The low ponytail The low ponytail, a hairstyle which has received a bad rep for a long time, widely used when representing the geeky girl in most cartoons, this year it's had a new lease of life. This is fastly becoming one of winters go to hairstyles, low-slung tousled locks fixed with some kind of overly decadent hair accessory. It completely sums up winter 2016, the theme of ' being yourself ' makes this slightly undone, messy look, bang on trend. Super easy to recreate, a bit of back coming, a bit of hair spray and a jewellery grip or hair band can pull you into the front of fashion!
Crimping A throw back from the 80's, crimping has you instantly thinking of Madonna, Cyndi Lauper and those over the top voluminous hairstyles. It's safe to say that sweat bands and neon makeup are not in this winter, It may be news to you as it certainly was for me but crimping is back! This year it's all about adding texture, the undone, natural frizzy looks are all in this year. This winter is all about enhancing natural beauty and adding glamor in subtle ways. Team slightly crimped hair with this winters gothic lip trend for a stunning, show stopping statement look.
Ballerina bun The incredibly slick and sleek ballerina bun is back this winter, this perfect simple hair style can be switched up by wearing it slightly lower than usual. Wearing it lower adds that thrown together vibes which are all the rage this year. This hair style is also perfect for the decadent trend that's around this winter, perfect for showing off those statement earrings and a brilliant hair style to wear when going totally natural or statement with the makeup. Very versatile up do!
Retro Waves The 1920's are here again with these retro finger waves coming back in full force, a frequent go-to hair style on the run way this year even Demi Lovato braved this retro look on the red carpet. Elegant, glossy and neat this hair style adds an element of sophistication to any outfit this year. Team with a dark lip just like demi in the picture above, a dark eye will be sure to make this look smolder and you'll be bang on trend for the Christmas party season!
Wet look The red carpet this year has seen a wave in this wet look trend, no pun intended! Celebrities including Miley Cyrus and Khloe Kardashian have all worn this look at some point or another, a really easy look to create as there's literally no way to get this wrong! Using this technique to pull hair away from the face leaves room for your makeup or jewelry to take the limelight, is this something you'd be daring to try?
Natural Fringe Gone are the days of the perfectly trimmed, blunt cut bangs. This winter is all about the natural fringe, fringe with a part, a fringe that's trimmed unevenly, it's all about that natural beauty and accentuating your natural look. Many runway models have opted for a short uneven fringe. If you don't feel confident taking it up that far then try a fringe just above the eyes to give that grown out look. Effortlessly in style this year! This trend is by far my favorite, I get so tired of trimming my own fringe so this is a trend I'm thoroughly taking advantage of!
